PRESS RELEASES

INCIDENT:          Theft from Vehicle

DATE / TIME:     04/09/2017 between 1200-1600         

LOCATION:        Grange Hall Road, Centreville

 

DETAILS:            Victim went to the Nature Shore Hunting Preserve with his son. On arrival, the victim left his truck unlocked with his Apple MacBook Air on the rear seat. Upon returning to the truck, victim went to get gas and on the way his son realized the computer was missing.

 

The computer was valued at $1900 and was equipped with a GPS locater but that feature was not turned on.

INCIDENT:          CDS Possession / Warrant Service

DATE / TIME:     04/09/2017 @ 1438 hours   

LOCATION:        RT 18 @ Kent Narrows, Grasonville  

 

ARREST:              Parker William Hackett (21) of Annapolis

DETAILS:            A black Ford Fiesta was observed failing to stop at a stop sign and was pulled over. The driver was identified as Parker Hackett. A computer check indicated he was suspended, however he had a letter from MVA showing he had cleared the issue.

 

A K9 scan of the car by a Centreville K9 which led to the seizure of suspect marijuana (under 10 grams).

 

Hackett was also found to have an active warrant for Violation of Probation and was placed under arrest. He was issued citations for possession of marijuana and failure to obey a stop sign. He went before a District Court Commissioner for the arrest warrant and he was released on an unsecured $1000 bond.

INCIDENT:          Motor Vehicle Theft

DATE / TIME:     04/10 to 04/11, 2017           

LOCATION:        Shopping Center Road, Stevensville

 

DETAILS:            Victim left his white 2006 E450 Ford van in a parking lot on Shopping Center Road in order to go with his son. The next day on his return the van was gone. The estimated value was $15,000

INCIDENT:          Counterfeit Currency

DATE / TIME:     04/14/17 @ 1350 Hours      

LOCATION:        125 Outlet Center Drive, Queenstown

 

VICTIM:              Calvin Klein / Polo

 

DETAILS:            The manager at Calvin Klein reported a male subject had just attempted to purchase a sweatshirt and jeans by using a counterfeit $100 bill. The manager stopped him at the door and had him return the merchandise.

 

While this was going on another male was in the Polo store purchasing clothing with another $100 bill.

 

The two suspects, both African-American males were seen leaving the shopping center in a black Dodge Charger with Missouri plates.

INCIDENT:          Disorderly Subject

DATE / TIME:     04/16/2017 @ 0710 Hours  

LOCATION:        400 Block of Coner Drive, Stevensville

 

ARREST:              Nicholas Marcel Perras (25) of Chambersburg, PA

 

DETAILS:            Deputies responded to the intersection of Conor Drive & John Patrick Road for reports of a male standing in the roadway screaming and beating his chest.

 

Tracy Schultz, Chief 1 of KIVFD had arrived first and the subject (later identified as Nicholas Perras) had charged him with a closed fist attempting to strike him. Perras was taken to the ground and held until Deputies arrived. When Perras was placed in custody, he continued to argue, shout and used profanity to an extent residents in the area came outside from their homes.

 

Perras was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, 2nd degree assault. He was also issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana under 10 grams and a traffic citation for driving on suspended licenses in MD and PA.

 

Perras was initially held on a $20,000. He later posted bail and released

INCIDENT:          Domestic Assault

DATE / TIME:     04/16/2017 @ 1542 Hours

LOCATION:        200 Block of Tennessee Road, Stevensville

 

ARREST:              Robin Renee Wessel (48) of Stevensville

 

DETAILS:            It was reported to responding Deputies that a verbal argument had occurred between the victim and his daughter. Soon after, Wessell charged at the victim pushing him into a grill and swinging at his face. The victim incurred several visible minor injuries on his face.

 

Wessell was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd Degree Assault

INCIDENT:          Domestic Assault

DATE / TIME:     04/18/2017 @ 0021 Hours  

LOCATION:        Dominion Road, Chester

 

ARREST:              Gualdo Danilo Escobar (41) of Chester

 

DETAILS:            Victim reported having an argument with Escobar of his alcohol consumption. During the incident Escobar struck twice in the face.

 

The victim facial injuries were visible to the responding deputy. Escobar was placed under arrest and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters. Due to his level of intoxication EMS was requested to check his condition. After being cleared, he was taken before a District Court Commissioner who held Escobar on a temporary commitment until he sobered up. He was later released on his own recognizance.

INCIDENT:          Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute

DATE / TIME:     04/18/2017 @ 0858 Hours

LOCATION:        RT 50 / RT 301 Split, Queenstown

 

ARREST:              Ruben James Merritt (33) of Cambridge

Dontra Lavar Cornish (38) of Cambridge

  

DETAILS:            A 2003 Dodge Ram pickup with two male occupants was stopped for an expired tag. While speaking with the driver, a faint odor of raw marijuana was noted.

 

During the stop, a Sheriff’s K9 unit arrived and scanned the truck with a positive alert. Search of the truck resulted in locating a can with suspected marijuana exceeding 10 grams. Both subjects were placed under arrest for PWID. Both subjects had a large amount of cash in their possession which totaled over $14,000.

 

After processing at Sheriff’s Headquarters, both subjects were seen by a District Court Commissioner. Merritt was held on a $5000 bond while Cornish was released on a $5000 Unsecured Bond.

 

Based on the charges, the pickup, cash and cell phones were seized.

DATE / TIME:     04/19/2017 @ 0815 (Reported)

LOCATION:        2600 Block of Roberts Station Road, Ingleside

 

DETAILS:            Victim reported missing several items from his unlocked shed including a Stihl chain saw, a Tony Hawk BMX bike and a Huffy bike. The theft occurred sometime between 4/10 to 4/19. He also discovered that he had three Poulan brand chain saws and a shop vac in a boat in his yard.

 

The victim estimated the items had a total value of about $1700

DATE / TIME:     04/19/2017 @ 0920 Hours  

LOCATION:        Dominion Road, Chester

 

ARREST:              Gualdo Danilo Escobar (41) of Chester

 

DETAILS:            Deputies were dispatched to Dominion Road for a possible physical domestic. As they were responding, it was learned that the suspect had left the residence and was walking towards RT 18. He was located and detained by officers from DNR and MdTA.

 

Victim reported having another argument with Escobar and during the incident Escobar struck the victim twice in the head. The victim showed the deputy paperwork from the previous assault the day before.

 

Escobar was placed under arrest and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters. After completing a new set of charges he was taken before a District Court Commissioner and held without bail.

INCIDENT:          Theft / MDOP

DATE / TIME:     04/19/2017 @1150 Hours   

LOCATION:        105 Damsontown Road, Centreville

 

VICTIM:              Ruthsburg Community Center

 

DETAILS:            The caretaker for the Ruthsburg Community Center was cutting grass when he noticed that the heat pumps for the building had been disassembled. Both units had all the copper tubing had been cut and removed. Supply lines from the gas tanks that supply gas to the stoves in the kitchen had also been removed.

 

The theft is believed to have occurred late evening on the 18th to early morning hours on the 19th.  No estimate on the damage, but it appears both units need to be replaced.

INCIDENT:          Possession of CDS (Not Marijuana)

DATE / TIME:     04/19/2017 @ 2245 Hours

LOCATION:        RT 50 near Chester River Beach Road, Grasonville

 

ARREST:              Bonnie Leigh Weakley (34) of Westover, MD

 

DETAILS:            Silver Chevrolet Malibu approached a Sheriff’s Patrol car from the rear at a high rate of speed. The patrol car was equipped with a dual antenna radar unit and the Malibu was registered at 83 mph. Once the Malibu passed the unmarked car, it was pulled over.

 

The Malibu was occupied by two individuals and the two were identified. While checking information and issuing a citation, one of the Sheriff’s K9 unit arrived. After a positive alert, the car was searched a “cook spoon” with suspected heroin residue and a tourniquet were seized from a pocketbook belonging to passenger Bonnie Leigh Weakley. Weakley was also found to have 6 suboxone pills in her pocket.

 

After seeing a District Court Commissioner, Weakley was held on a $7500 bail and taken to the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center.

Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force

Press Release

 

Incident: Felony arrest

 

Date/Time: 06/05/17

 

Location: Anne Arundel County, Maryland

 

Suspect:  Nathan Joseph Johnson, W/M, 24 years old, Arnold, MD

 

 

Assisting Personnel: Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division  

 

Synopsis: On November 4, 2016 the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to an unattended death in Grasonville, Maryland. Investigation revealed that Brandon Thomas Roe, had died from a suspected heroin overdose.

 

  Members of the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force responded to assist and were able to identify several possible suspects as the person who may have distributed or facilitated the distribution of the heroin to the deceased. Task Force investigators also received several additional from members of the public and Roe’s family members.  

 

   Using the information at hand Task Force members began an in-depth investigation and with the assistance of prosecutors from the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed thousands of cell phone records, conducted multiple suspect interviews and ultimately identified Nathan Joseph Johnson (24) as the primary suspect in the distribution of heroin  that is suspected of causing Roe’s overdose death.

 

   On May 24, 2017 Johnson was indicted in Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court for Involuntary Manslaughter, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin in Roe’s death.

 

    On June 2, 2017 Johnson was arrested after being stopped in Anne Arundel County on unrelated charges. Johnson was transported to Queen Anne’s County, Maryland where he was served his charges on June 5, 2017. Johnson is currently awaiting a bond hearing.

INCIDENT:         Burglary

DATE / TIME:     07/20/2017 approximately 0700 hours

LOCATION:        3000 Block of Price Station Rd, Centreville MD 21617

VICTIM:              Jerry L. Wicker 31yo W/M

 

DETAILS:    Deputies responded to the 3000 block of Price Station Road, Centreville, MD in regards to a burglary.  The victim reported that an unknown person(s) entered his living quarters and stole tools and copper wire.  The unknown person(s) also entered a vehicle in the driveway and stole a tool bag containing miscellaneous tools.  The items stolen were a white milk crate containing wire and a craftsman pneumatic nailer.  The items stolen from the truck were a Dewalt tool bag with an impact drill, two drill bit sets, and numerous wrenches.  The total estimated value of the tools is $465.00.

LOCATION:        Main St @ Rt 18, in front of Friendly’s gas station

SUSPECT:             John Thomas Wader (50yo W/M)

DETAILS:              A red in color, Ford F-150 was traveling south on Rt 18 at the intersection of Main St in Chester Queen Anne’s County. The driver, identified as John Thomas Wader, was seen talking on their cell phone while driving on the roadway. A traffic stop was completed at which time the Deputy was informed the registration was suspended per insurance with a pick up order on the tags. The tags were seized and placed into evidence per departmental policy. Wader was issued the appropriate citations.

COMPLAINANT: Michael Dale Coyner 49yo W/M

DETAILS:              Deputies were dispatched to Web Foot Lane in reference to a lost/stolen trailer tag. The Complainant, identified as Michael Dale Coyner stated he had last seen the trailer tag on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Matapeake Boat Ramp located at 1112 Roamncooke Rd, Stevensville. Coyner stated he does not know if the tag was stolen or if it was lost but needed to report the incident per the MVA.

LOCATION:        200 Block of Grollman Rd, Stevensville MD 21666

VICTIM:              John R. Malone 65yo W/M

 

DETAILS:              Deputies were dispatched to Grollman Rd in reference to a MDOP. The victim, identified as John Malone, indicated that as he was leaving his residence he noticed his mailbox was in pieces. Malone stated he had heard a muffled explosion in the early morning hours, however, he did not see any suspicious individuals in the area. The value of the mailbox was estimated at $75.00 and Deputy State Fire Marshal McIntyre was contacted and presumed lead on this investigation.

Troy Amadeus Warigon 21yo B/M, of Elkridge

DETAILS:   Deputies responded to the Safeway Gas Station in Chester, MD to check the welfare of two individuals passed out in a vehicle at the gas pump.  Deputies could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle when they made contact with the occupants.  A search was conducted on the vehicle and marijuana was located inside the vehicle.  The marijuana was seized and charges are pending for the suspects.

LOCATION:    El Jefe Shopping Center Road    Chester, MD 21619

Victim:                   Radall Jiles 50  Homeless no fixed address

DETAILS:   Dfc. Goodman was dispatched to El Jefe for a theft of bicycle complaint.  Dfc. Goodman made contact with the victim whom advised that he left his bicycle chained to a door to El Jefe on Sunday and when he returned on Monday the bicycle was gone.    The bicycle is described as a gray specialized vehicle, unknown make, and model, valued at $650.00.

DETAILS:             Deputies responded to Sherman way, Queen Anne’s County Chester MD, in reference to a report of alleged harassment and a violation of a protective order. Upon gathering the facts of the investigation, it was founded that no violation had occurred since the protective order had expired.

DETAILS              Deputies responded for the report of a theft. Deputies spoke with the victim, identified as Jason Baker, who advised his Honda Generator had been stolen. The theft occurred between 7/12/17 and 7/15/17. Deputy Bush located said Generator at Fast Cash pawn shop in Annapolis Maryland. A Suspect has been identified and a statement of charges will be completed.

INCIDENT: Theft
DATE / TIME: 07/21/17 @ 1033 hours
LOCATION: 1900 Block of Anchorage Drive, Stevensville, Md.
 
DETAILS: Dfc. Burns responded to the 100 block of Sallitt Drive, Stevensville, Maryland to meet with a subject for a report of a theft. Victim, Edward Matthew Turner (36 yo W/M) advised that 200 pounds of various fishing gear, such as fishing rods and fishing tackle were stolen from his boat over the course of the last 6-7 months. The victim does not know if the theft occurred from his residence in Queen Anne’s County (1900 block of Anchorage Drive, Stevensville, Md) or from another location outside our jurisdiction. The victim estimates the total value of the equipment stolen to be $4,267.93. Suspects are unknown at this time. Investigation is ongoing.

INCIDENT: Driving While Intoxicated
DATE AND: 7/22/17 at 0330 hours.
LOCATION: Maryland Route 301 near Route 305, Centreville
VICTIM: State of Maryland
 
NARRATIVE: On the above date and time, Dfc. Piasecki stopped a vehicle for a exceeding the posted speed limit. The driver was leaving a party in Dover, Delaware. Dfc. Piasecki could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath. The driver admitted to having one beer several hours prior. Dfc. Piasecki asked the driver to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety test. The driver failed all tests and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. The driver refused a breathalyzer test and was released to a sober driver after processing.

DETAILS: Deputy Sackrider and Dfc. R. Davidson responded to the scene and met with complainant, John Christ (52 yo w/m) who advised that the rear tag off his boat trailer (Md. Tag 092118X) is missing. The complainant does not know when he lost the tag or where. He last saw the trailer tag perhaps last week while he was getting gas but he is not certain of that. There is a cost of $161 to renew the tag with MVA.

INCIDENT: Traffic Violations leads to Outstanding Warrant Arrest
DATE AND TIME: 7/22/17 at 2230 hours.
LOCATION: Round Top Road near Round Top Park, Chester Harbor Chestertown
VICTIM: State of Maryland
 
NARRATIVE: On the above date and time, Dfc. Andrew Neall stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. As Deputy Neall inquired about the license status of the driver it was learned his driver’s license was suspended in the state of Delaware. Dfc. Neall completed wanted checks on the driver and the below listed male had outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear in District Court in Kent County Maryland. The driver was arrested and transported to the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff for processing. The male was held on $7500 bond.

INCIDENT: Possession of CDS not Marijuana
DATE AND TIME: 7/23/17 at 0105 hours.
LOCATION: Maryland Route 18 near Dundee Avenue, Chester
VICTIM: State of Maryland
 
NARRATIVE: On the above date and time, Dfc. Piasecki observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at Route 18 near the Kent Narrows Bridge. The vehicle travelled west on Route 18, Dfc. Piasecki attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle turned onto Dundee Avenue and then turned into a community. Dfc. Piasecki approached the driver who was the only person in the vehicle. Dfc. Piasecki asked the driver for his license and registration card. The male produced a Maryland Identification card and was identified as the male listed below. A wanted check of the male revealed he had several outstanding warrants. Dfc. Piasecki advised the driver he was under arrest and the male locked the car and shut the door. Dfc. Piasecki asked the driver for the keys, the driver stated a male came over and took the keys before Dfc. Piasecki pulled up. Dfc. Piasecki confirmed there were no other males around the car during the time of the stop. The male refused to tell officers where the keys were. A K-9 scan of the car produced a positive alert and the vehicle was towed and stored by the Sheriff’s Office. The driver was processed for the outstanding warrants. Investigation continues.

EVENT:                 Red Knights Motorcycle Club Fundraiser & Ride

DATE / TIME:     10:30am Saturday July 22, 2017

LOCATION:        Starting at the Queenstown Moose Lodge

DETAILS:           Deputies from the Queen Anne’s Office of the Sheriff were assigned to a special event to provide traffic control and safety assistance for the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, which had a charity ride through Queen Anne’s County starting at the Queenstown Moose Lodge on Rt. 18.  The Route took the riders up though Centreville and northern parts of the county and returning to Queenstown.

EVENT:                 Fisher Manor Community Day

DATE / TIME:     Starting at 12 noon Saturday July 22, 2017

LOCATION:        Fisher Manor Community in Grasonville, MD

DETAILS:           The Fisher Manor neighborhood hosted a Community Day over the weekend where they invited all their residents to a block party throughout the community.  The event featured inflatable party toys for the kids, a Community BBQ, Queen Anne’s County Sheriff Vehicles and Grasonville Volunteer Fire Department Engine which sprayed the kids in the hot weather!   Deputies were able to meet with and talk to residents about their neighborhood and interact positively with community members of all ages.

INCIDENT:      Commercial Burglary

DATE / TIME:   7/24/2017 @ 2242hrs.

LOCATION:    3634 Main Street @ Marshy Creek Liquors Grasonville, MD

DETAILS:   Deputies responded to Marshy Creek Liquors for an alarm at the location.  Once on scene, deputies observed a back glass door to the establishment was busted out and a flood light ripped off the wall above it.  The store was searched for suspects and deputies along with MSP troopers began canvassing the area for any suspects.  The video surveillance shows two suspects entering the store.  There was cash and several liquor bottles missing including several bottles of Grey Goose Vodka.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation’s Unit.

DETAILS:       Deputies responded for a possible overdose incident. Contact was made with the resident who advised that the victim was pale, semi-conscious and unresponsive. EMS responded for treatment and diagnosis. Victim was transported to AAMC for further treatment. The victim was a recovering CDS user though family thought he may have relapsed. A K-9 scan of the residence was negative for CDS.

The victim later returned to Bufflehead Ct after being released from AAMC. The victim was again showing signs of CDS use. Deputies and EMS returned to the residence. A search of the victims vehicle resulted in CDS possible heroine. The subject was placed under arrest and charge with Possession of CDS.

LOCATION:    Batts Neck Park @ 415 Batts Neck Road Stevensville, MD 21666

DETAILS:  While on patrol Dfc. Cooper checked the Batts Neck Park for any after hours activity.  He observed a Chevy passenger vehicle parked in the rear of the parking lot with no lights on.  He approached the vehicle and observed three persons to be inside.  While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle he noticed that they were acting nervous.  Dfc. Martz and K-9 Spike arrived at the location and a K-9 scan was conducted which resulted in a positive alert.  During a search of the vehicle, there was marijuana found under one of the passenger seats.  Two of the subjects admitted that it was their marijuana.  They were both charged on a civil citation and released.

DETAILS:   A white vehicle operated by April Gioffre was operating a White 2012 Buick 4DR Passenger Veh in the parking lot in an unsafe manner. As a result she struck a parked 2014 Ford Pick-up and pushed it into the vehicle next to it a 2017 Nissan 4DR passenger car. The driver of the Buick exited the car looked in the windows of the pick up truck. She then returned to her vehicle and fled the scene. The incident was caught on the video recording. DETAILS:   While traveling S/B Rt. 301 a deputy observed a rollback type vehicle operating erratically going from one lane to the other onto the grass past the shoulder. The deputy affected a traffic stop and made contact with the driver Maurice Respass. A check of the driver’s license revealed that the driver had a Warrant for FTA Commercial Vehicle Traffic Offenses from Anne Arundel County.  Also the driver possessed and displayed a Washington D.C. driver’s license which was suspended. A Level III Safety check was conducted during the stop which resulted in and alcohol beverage container being located in the vehicle which is prohibited by law in a Commercial Vehicle. The driver was charge with multiple related traffic offenses and taken into custody to have the warrant served.

INCIDENT:    Driving under the influence of Alcohol

NARRATIVE:   On 7/23/17 at approximately 0350 hours, a deputy observed a silver passenger vehicle cross the center line of the roadway in the area of Main St and Love Point Rd. The deputy stopped the vehicle at the Shorestop and identified the driver as Chaz Ramaine Williams (27 yr old male from Windsor Mill, MD). The deputy observed indicators of possible DUI. Williams was put through a series of sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI. Williams was issued the appropriate citations and was later released to a sober adult.

NARRATIVE:   On July 27/17 at 1035 hours, a deputy observed a green passenger vehicle with an equipment violation. The deputy stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as James Edward Bryant III (24 year old male from Teachey, NC). It was learned that Bryant did not have a valid driver’s license in any state. While handing over another form of ID, the deputy observed another driver’s license. Bryant stated it was a fake ID. A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted and the vehicle was then searched. During the search, another ID and credit cards belonging to a subject from New York City was located. The deputy is currently investigating as to if those items are stolen or not. No CDS was located during the search, but the subject indicated he was using CDS prior to being stopped. Bryant was then placed under arrest and transported to the office. He was issued citations for several violations including driving without a license, and possessing a fake ID. Charges are pending for the other located items. Bryant was taken to a district court commissioner and released on a $1,000.00 unsecured bond. Case remains open

DETAILS:  On Monday July 31, 2017 at approximately 0645 hrs., deputies were called to investigate a commercial burglary at the Queenstown Xtra Mart, 4638 Ocean Gateway in Queenstown, MD. Investigation revealed that sometime between 0300 hrs., and 0400 hrs. on 07/31/2017, unknown person(s) broke the front glass door and entered the store. The suspects took approximately $4,200 worth of merchandise, as well as a computer. Damages to the door and glass were estimated to be over $1,000. The suspects fled the area and have not been identified. Investigation is continuing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit, Cpl. INCIDENT:          Traffic Violation leads to CDS Marijuana under 10 grams Citation

DATE/ TIME:      August 5, 2017 at 0903 hours

LOCATION:         Maryland Route 301 near Route 405, Church Hill Maryland

NARRATIVE:      On the above date and time, Dfc. Andrew Neall stopped a vehicle for traffic violations.  As Deputy Neall inquired about the license status of the driver it was learned the driver had been smoking Marijuana while driving his car.  Dfc. Neall completed a search of the suspect and the vehicle and found marijuana, a smoking pipe and storage containers on the suspect and within the inside of vehicle.  The suspect was issued the proper citation and was released at the scene.  The evidence was seized and processed at the Sheriff’s Office.

DETAILS: On 8/7/17 at approximately 8:11AM DFC Cooper responded to the above address in reference to a theft that just occurred. INCIDENT: Multiple Thefts from Auto’s

DATE / TIME:  8/8/17 / 9:00AM

LOCATION: North Centreville Area of Spaniards Neck Rd and Watson Rd

DETAILS: On 8/8/17 several residents in the north area of Centreville in the areas of Watson Rd, Gray Fox Ln, Dove, Ln and Spaniard Neck Rd reported that there vehicles had been broken into. All the victims advised that the involved vehicles were unlocked. It’s believed that the thefts all occurred during the early morning hours between 3:00AM and 8:00AM. With the exception of a power converter and woman’s Green Coach Wallet the only items taken were U.S. Currency in coins value in total of approximately $500.00. One victim of this incident happened to find another victim’s wallet and related credit cards near his residence. The recovered property was returned to the original owners. Due to the assistance provided by Centreville Police Dept. possible suspects have been developed. This investigation is ongoing at this time. INCIDENT:     Suspicious Activity

LOCATION:   1000 Block of Church Hill Lane, Chester, Md.

DETAILS:       Complainant, Howard Stokes (62 yr. old white male, Chester, Md.) advised that earlier in the day, FedEx responded to his residence with a package which was addressed to his wife. Complainant said that during this time, a black Toyota passenger car  pulled up with a white female driver and a black male passenger.  The male advised that the package the complainant had just received had been delivered to the incorrect residence and was in fact supposed to come to him instead.  The suspicious male advised his name was “Tony” (no last name given) and said he lived down the street in the community.  When asked which street, “Tony” advised of a street that does not exist in the community.  The complainant refused to give the package to the male and instead returned to his residence.  The package contained a new debit card from Navy Federal Credit Union, which neither the complainant nor his wife had ordered.  Navy Federal Credit Union did advise that the new card had been ordered online.  Investigation is ongoing.

INCIDENT:          Reckless Endangerment involving a Handgun

DATE/ TIME:      August 10, 2017 at 2248 hours.

LOCATION:         100 block Bateau Drive (Parking area Recycling Bins)Stevensville, Maryland

NARRATIVE:      On the above date and time, Dep. P. Sackrider was patrolling in the area of the Bateau Drive County Fishing Pond, Stevensville.  Deputy Sackrider heard several shots in the area of the recycling bins.  He began aggressively searching the area to determine where the shots came from.  He observed a Ford Escort passenger car speeding from the area.  Deputy Sackrider stopped the vehicle on Route 18 near Route 8.  He found the owner of the vehicle to be the driver. Deputy Sackrider inquired as to why the male was in the area and began scanning the interior of the car.  He observed shooting targets in the back seat of the vehicle.  Deputy Sackrider asked the driver if he could search the interior of the car.  The driver agreed and admitted there was a handgun under the driver seat.   The male was asked to step out of the car and Deputy Sackrider was able to locate a loaded Ruger .380 handgun under the driver seat.  The gun was legally registered to the male.  The male admitted to shooting the fiberglass recycling bins to practice shooting the gun.  The male was placed under arrest for Reckless Endangerment.  The male was taken before the District Court Commissioner and is pending his initial appearance.

INCIDENT:  MVA – with Property Damage

DATE / TIME: 8/12/17 / 0208 hrs.

LOCATION:  100 Block of Purple Martin Rd Centreville

DETAILS:   On 8/12/17 at approximately 0208 hours DFC Cooper responded to the above address in reference to a single vehicle accident that just occurred. Upon arrival he observed a 2002 BMW bearing MD registration 5BK1158 damaged as the result of colliding with the residence. The home was occupied at the time though no one inside the residence was injured. The driver of the vehicle identified as John Reginal Palmer also was not injured but did appear to be under the influence of alcohol. Field Sobriety Exercises were attempted but Palmer advised he was unable to complete the test.  Palmer was arrested and transported to the MSP Easton Barrack to provide a consensual breath sample.  Damage to the residence is estimated to be near or above $5,000.00

DETAILS: On 8/11/17 at approximately 1953 hours Dep. Myers responded to the above address in reference to a past theft. The resident of this address Michael Kelly advised the deputy that sometime during the last 3 month U.S. Currency (coins) with an approximate value of $300 was taken. Additionally two pieces of silver cutlery (Brand Orleans Silver Sterling Japan) with and unknown value were stolen as well. There were no signs of forced entry. INCIDENT:                              Suspicious Vehicle Investigation leads to Drug Citation

DATE/TIME REPORTED:        August 14, 2017 at 2235 hours.

LOCATION:                             Kent Island High School, Stevensville Maryland

VICTIM:                                  State of Maryland

 

NARRATIVE:              On the above date and time, Dep. P. Sackrider was patrolling in the area of the Kent Island High School when he observed several vehicles in the parking lot to the high school.  The Deputy followed one of the vehicles from the parking lot and performed a vehicle stop near the Cloverfields Community.  K-9 handler Dfc. M. Piasecki and his K-9 partner were in the area and responded to assist. The Deputy inquired to why the driver was at the high school and the 17 year old driver (only person in the vehicle) stated he was going to play basketball with some of his friends.  K-9 arrived and performed a scan of the detained vehicle during the course of the investigation and a positive K-9 alert was given.  A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed less than ten grams of Marijuana.  The driver of the vehicle was cited for possession of less than ten grams of Marijuana and tobacco citations for other items located in the vehicle.  The driver was released to his parents pending a Juvenile Services review.

Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force

Press Release

Incident: Search and Seizure warrant

Date/Time: 08/16/17 @ 0445 hrs

Location: 102 Price Street Centreville, Queen Anne’s County, Maryland

Suspect: Donald Eugene Farris, W/M, 44 years old

 

CDS Seized: 38 Marijuana Plants

25 Oxycodone pills

2791.00 grams of processed marijuana

Synopsis: On 08/16/17 at approximately 0445 hours the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force, assisted by the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Team, members of the Centreville Police Department and a uniformed Deputy from the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office served a knock and announce search warrant at 102 Price Street Centreville, MD. The primary suspect, Donald Eugene Farris was at home when the warrant was served.

A search of the residence revealed an upstairs bedroom converted into a marijuana manufacturing operation that contained 38 actively growing marijuana plants. A search of the remainder of the residence revealed approximately 2791.00 grams of processed marijuana and 25 Oxycodone pills, packaged for retail sale.

The processed marijuana has an approximate value in Queen Anne’s County of $10.00 dollars a gram, the actively growing marijuana plants will yield approximately $1,000.00 worth of marijuana each and the Oxycodone pills have a street value of approximately $250.00 giving a total value of the drugs seized from Farris a street value of approximately $66,160.00.

Farris, who has a lengthy criminal history for armed robbery, felony controlled dangerous substance violations, and assault is being charged with Possession of Oxycodone with the intent to distribute, Possession of Oxycodone, Manufacturing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with the intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia. Farris was held on no bond.

INCIDENT:                 Suspicion Persons Investigation leads to CDS Arrest

DATE AND TIME REPORTED:       August 16, 2017 at 0251 hours.

LOCATION:               South Piney Creek Road behind Red Apple Plaza, Chester

VICTIM:                     State of Maryland

 

NARRATIVE:                        On the above date and time, Dfc. Piasecki was patrolling local businesses when he observed two suspicious males behind Red Apple Plaza.  Dfc. Piasecki stopped the two males and began inquiring why they were behind the stores.  Both males were identified and wanted checks for outstanding warrants were checked.  One black male was found to have an outstanding District Court Warrant issued to the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack.  The male was placed under arrest and during a search the male was found to be in possession of less than ten grams of marijuana.  The male was transported to the Office of the Sheriff for processing and was later held by the District Court Commissioner.

DETAILS:  Victim reported that on today’s date between 1000-1100 hrs his black, 2014 Carr, Trailer was stolen.  The trailer was bearing a Maryland registration of 099752X.  He described the suspects as a heavy built Hispanic or a light skinned African American male.  The suspect was traveling in a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or Chevrolet Blazer.

INCIDENT:         Driving While Impaired by CDS

DATE / TIME:     08/16/2017 approximately 1525 hours

LOCATION:       Dudley Farm/Grange Hall Rd

 

SUSPECT:           Thomas Darcy Seaman, 25yo of Goldsboro Md.

 

DETAILS:             A black in color, Chevy Malibu was traveling 50mph in a posted 30mph. Deputies completed a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, and after field sobriety testing, it was the opinion of the officer that the driver, identified as Thomas Seaman, was impaired. Through an additional screening with a Drug Recognition Expert, it was determined that Seaman was under the influence of CDS. Seaman was placed under arrest and issued the appropriate documents.

DETAILS:       QACSO units responded to Main Street, Grasonville, Md for the report that a previously reported stolen trailer had been located. The deputy arrived on scene and located a 2014 Carr trailer, black in color with the same VIN as the one previously reported stolen on 8/15/17 through QACSO. Contact was made with the owner and the trailer was released to him. The license plate to that trailer has not been located at this time. This case is still an active investigation.

DETAILS:  While working a radar assignment, deputies performed a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet truck with an inoperable headlamp and while speaking with one of the occupants, he pulled out a baggie with a small amount of marijuana.  Upon searching the vehicle a glass smoking device was also located.  He was charged on a civil citation for possession of marijuana under 10 grams and released.

INCIDENT:     Theft from motor vehicles ( UPDATE)

DATE / TIME:     8/8/2017 @ 0853

LOCATION:    Watson Road Centreville, MD

DETAILS:   On 8/8/2017 deputies took a report for several vehicles being broken into and change and other miscellaneous items being stolen from the vehicles.  There were a total of 10 victims in the area of Watson Road, Spaniard Neck Road, and Dove Lane Centreville, MD.  On 8/18/2017 Centreville Police were called for a theft in progress and was able to apprehend a 17 year old w/m from Centreville that was involved in the theft.  Dfc. Martz responded to Centreville Police where the suspect confessed to the theft from vehicles on Watson road.  A juvenile referral was completed, charging the juvenile with 10 counts of theft and 10 counts Rogue and Vagabond.
